    iTunes 8 problems

It looks like iTunes 8 has changed something again and now HappyFish throws a Device Error on startup (a NullReferenceException when calling RefreshDevicesDropDown on the SynchronizationPanel).

Well, let me retract that partially - it gave me that error the first 4-5 times I started HappyFish after installing iTunes 8.  It just started again and found the iTunes library, no error.  I'm not sure what that means, but at least I this post will be some documentation for anyone else who has the same problem.

    DuckPuppy,

If you updated iTunes while HF was running then the iTunes install may not have completed.  The way HF hooks into iTunes prevents one of the dlls from being changed during the install.  At any rate, that may be what you were seeing.  My sense is from reading about iTunes 8 is that there may be other gotchas in store.  Please keep me posted.

    Thanks,

    Will

had the same problem, I'd updated iTunes & .net to v3. I don't generally use iTunes & only have it installed for Happy Fish. When I did launched iTunes after the update (about a week later) it fixed the problem. Phew, a week of juice & I'm happy to be back.

    Re: iTunes 8 problems

My sense is that iTunes 8 is going to bring a host of compatibility issues.  I'd downgrade if you can.  Of course that may not be possible or practicle for you.  I've been slammed with work so I haven't been able to focus on the new version lately.  It will be compatible with iTunes 8 though whenever I get it out the door.
