MTP better than MSC for Sansa e280?

I am a new experimenter of HF. I got the Sansa working using MSC and I am wondering if there are any advantages to setting it up as an MTP player.  The reason I setup as MSC is that my initial attempt at MTP failed but I can't recall what the problem was.

    Fryman,

Unless you're also using something like Windows Media Player to manage content on the device I would stick with MSC.  The current MTP plugin is a first draft.  It should work with the e280 because that is the device I used in the development process.  However, it's slower than MSC and more likely to have problems.  It turned out to be quite difficult to do.  So that's why I'd advice that unless you need to have the device in MTP mode, stick with MSC.

    Regards,

    Will

Thanks for the response Will,  I feel like I almost know you from all the posts I have read with you responding to them...very helpfull.  I am not using WMP anymore...after nearly a year of trying to get comfortable with it and not achieving any comfort at all I have moved on.  I am mostly interested in Podcasts so HappyFish seams to be a good fit.  Keep up the great work!

    Fryman,

Something else I think I mentioned in another post on the forum but wanted to say again - once the next version is out I'll be releasing the interfaces for plugins so that anyone else out there with the interest can write a plugin to support their device of choice.  Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will save me the trouble of writing one for the Zune...

    Will
